Green and digital Europe - the New Consumer Agenda
< poprzedni | następny > 22.11.2021
- How to protect consumers effectively in the digital world? How to provide consumers with the opportunity to consume sustainably for the benefit of the climate and the environment?
- In view of the new challenges, the European Commission has prepared a "New Consumer Agenda" including priorities for the next five years.
- Today, we discuss it in Poland during the Consumer Dialogue attended by, among others, Didier Reynders, Commissioner for Justice at the European Commission and Tomasz Chróstny, President of UOKiK.
- We encourage you to watch the live stream on YouTube (starting at. 3 p.m. password: 221121).
Green and digital transition, as well as economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, are the challenges that the European Commission and national competent authorities for consumer protection will seek to address in the next 5 years. How to meet those challenges? The EC has developed a "New Consumer Agenda" - in which it proposes key actions to be taken at European and national level. In order to adapt the proposed solutions to the needs of individual countries, the Commission organises consumer dialogues. The dialogues serve as a method of explaining developments to EU citizens and listening to the views of consumers from different EU Member States. Such a dialogue is taking place today in Poland.
- Together with the EC, we want to ensure that Polish consumers who increasingly make transactions over the Internet have as high a level of protection as when using traditional sales channels and that the regulations are adjusted to the rapidly advancing digital transition. Another important issue is to provide consumers with valuable information on responsible consumption and sustainable development, including product durability, to help them make informed purchasing decisions - says Tomasz Chróstny, President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.
Consumer dialogue in Poland
