The Polish competition authority – UOKiK - will host the 12th ICN Annual Conference in 2013. For the first time the event will take place in Poland. Hosting this prestigious event is a great honour for the Office and appreciation of its international activity

International Competition Network – ICN – was established in 2001 in New York. 114 competition authorities from 92 countries are part of the ICN. The main goal of the Network is to exchange information and experiences between agencies that operate on different legal bases.

In 2013 Poland will be the host of the 12th ICN Annual Conference. Moreover, UOKiK will take part in the ICN Steering Group for the years 2012-2014 – as a result influencing on strategic decisions and guidelines of the Network will be possible

- Hosting the most important and the biggest meeting of the competition authorities is very great honour for the Office. It will be also a great opportunity to present our achievements of the last 20 years – said Małgorzata Krasnodebska-Tomkiel – President of the Office.

- I would like to express my gratitude for the Polish Antimonopoly Office for accepting the challenge of hosting the ICN Annual Conference – said John Fingleton – President of the Office of Fair Trading and the Chairman of the ICN Steering Group during the ICN conference in the Hague.

In July 2011 UOKiK will also host annual European Competition Authorities meeting and in November 2011 – European Competition and Consumer Day. Both meetings will be held within the Polish EU Presidency.
