UOKiK's consent for EWG Energia

Mitsui, Electric Power Development and EWG Elektrownie Wiatrowe will be allowed to produce and sell the electricity form Dunowo wind farm
The President of UOKiK has granted her consent for the creation of a new entity, EWG Energia, by the participants to the concentration. Mitsui and Electric Power Development are Japanese undertakings dealing, inter alia, with the production and distribution of electricity. EWG Elektrownie Wiatrowe operate in the field of engineering and technical consulting services, construction works as well as real estate market.
Under the existing regulations, a transaction is subject to a notification submitted to the antitrust authority if the transaction participants' combined turnover in the year preceding the notification exceeded 1 billion euro worldwide or 50 million euro in Poland
Having conducted antitrust proceedings, the President of UOKiK has decided that the concentration shall not significantly restrict competition.
Under the existing regulations, a transaction is subject to a notification to the antitrust authority if the combined worldwide turnover of undertakings participating in the concentration in the financial year preceding the year of the notification exceeds the equivalent of EUR 1 000 000 000, or EUR 50 000 000 in Poland.
