The President of UOKiK has issued her consent for taking control over Świat Książki by Weltbild Polska

Participants to the concentration operate on the retail market of books, music, films, multimedia as well as books publishing. Weltbild Polska deals with selling books via mail order catalogue "Klub dla Ciebie", its own bookshops and kdc.pl – the Internet shop. Świat Książki keeps the catalogue "Klub Świata Książki" and its website. Additionally, it has a chain of bookshops located in biggest Polish cities.

Under the existing regulations, a transaction is subject to a notification submitted to the antitrust authority if the transaction participants' combined turnover in the year preceding the notification exceeded 1 billion euro worldwide or 50 million euro in Poland

Having conducted antitrust proceedings, the President of UOKiK has decided that the concentration shall not significantly restrict competition.

Under the existing regulations, a transaction is subject to a notification to the antitrust authority if the combined worldwide turnover of undertakings participating in the concentration in the financial year preceding the year of the notification exceeds the equivalent of EUR 1 000 000 000, or EUR 50 000 000 in Poland.
