Losing data means losing money! - together for consumers
  • More than 200 mass media and institutions have joined the campaign of the President of UOKiK “Losing data means losing money!".
  • We warn consumers of attempts to fraudulently obtain data and money.
  • Thank you for your extensive reactions and we encourage you to continue working together.

Trust or a moment of incautiousness may cost a lot – even savings of your life. In the campaign, the President of UOKiK warns you - “Losing data means losing money!". Stay alert as cybercriminals continue to act all the time. Impersonation of employees of institutions, false text messages, e-mails or links to payments – these are only some ways of stealing your money from your account.

More than 200 entities have gratuitously joined to participate in the UOKiK campaign.

- I sincerely thank the media, institutions and businesses who responded to my appeal and committed themselves to the campaign “Losing data means losing money!" on non-commercial terms. Co-operation of several hundred entities made it possible to reach a wide range of recipients, which proves the strength and effectiveness of our campaign” - says Tomasz Chróstny, President of UOKiK.

As part of the campaign, UOKiK has:

  • created two 30-second spots broadcast on radio and television and on Internet websites, in social media, as well as on media in public space,
  • organised two advisory webinars for consumers with the participation of experts of the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime of the National Police Headquarters and CERT Polska (NASK),
  • developed the finanse.uokik.gov.pl website with the section "Questions and Answers" on consumer rights and obligations of payment service providers,
  • published a series of educational messages: how cybercriminals work, how not to fall into their traps and what to do when you have already become their victim.

We are constantly inviting the media and institutions to participate in our campaign. All the materials are available at the Losing data means losing money! website.
