www.uokik.gov.pl is the best website of public administration in Poland - was the decision of the jury of the national Webstarfestival. In the last stage of the competition, the web of the UOKiK defeated the websites of the Office of the Committee for European Integration and of the Office of the West Pomerania Province

Webstarfestival was the first interactive competition in Poland that promoted the best websites and Internet advertisements. The prizes - Webstar statues - were given in 18 categories (among others, the best Polish website, the best corporate website, the best social website). Moreover, there is the Internet users’ prize for the best website and a special statue for the Person of the Year of the Polish Internet.

The website of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection was named the best among public administration websites. In the last stage of the competition UOKiK’s website defeated two other public sector the websites: of the Office of the Committee for European Integration and the Office of the West Pomerania Province. As it was emphasized during the final gala, the verdict was based on UOKiK’s website’s functionality, content, graphical layout, ease of navigation and innovativeness.

The rewarded website operates since August 2005. Apart from information on current social events and campaigns, current decisions of the Office, Polish and Community legislation in the field of competition and consumer protection, Internet users will find there, among others, the results of liquid fuel quality control and a registry of dangerous products. Thanks to www.uokik.gov.pl the weaker market participants can find information on institutions that protect their interests, and the entrepreneurs may use the leniency programme.
