Invitation to journalists: European Competition and Consumer Day

24-25 November

Poznań International Fair (14 Głogowska street, Poznań).

The Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection will hold the European Competition and Consumer Day on 24-25 November in Poznań. The importance of the event is emphasized by the fact that Poland for the first time holds the Presidency of the European Union.

There is a long-lasting tradition that each Presidency organises the European Competition Day. However, the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection decided to go one step further. As the Office deals not only with competition but it also protect consumers’ rights, it was decided that the event will therefore be devoted to the interaction between competition and consumer protection and will be titled “Competition – what’s in it for consumers?”.

Having under one roof experts dealing with antitrust law and consumer protection will enable the participants to ignite interesting debate and hopefully reach new conclusions regarding the benefits that consumers obtain from competition protection. The Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection believes that the event will contribute to raising awareness around the issues of distortions of competition, which have been causing serious harm to consumers and the economy. The Office aims to invoke interest and greater attention to both domestic and European competition and consumer issues.
