Consent for concentration: Rzeczpospolita Daily

The President of UOKiK has issued the consent for taking control over Mecom Poland Holdings, including the Rzeczpospolita daily, by Gremi Media

The application in this case was submitted to UOKiK on 14 July 2011. Gremi Media was created to take over a part of the Wydawnictwo Przekrój in January 2011. It belongs to Gremi capital group, which mainly deals with buying and restructuring companies to increase their market value. Mecom Poland Holdings, among others, is the owner of Presspublica - publisher of daily newspapers Rzeczpospolita and Gazeta Giełdy Parkiet and weekly Uważam Rze Inaczej Pisane. As a result of the concentration Gremi Media shall acquire 100 percent shares in Mecom Poland Holdings and shall take control over Presspublica and its subsidiaries.

In accordance with the provisions, the transaction is subject to notification to the antitrust authority, if it involves undertakings whose total turnover in the preceding year exceeded EUR 1 billion worldwide or EUR 50 million in Poland

Having conducted the antitrust proceedings the President of the Office decided that the concentration will not significantly restrict competition.

In accordance with the provisions, the transaction is subject to notification to the antitrust authority, if it involves undertakings whose total turnover in the preceding year exceeded EUR 1 billion worldwide or EUR 50 million in Poland.

We would like to emphasize that the website of the Office contains information on all antitrust proceedings concerning concentration cases conducted by the Office.
