Multijurisdictional mergers in Europe

Multijurisdictional mergers in Europe – legal regulations and administrative practice. The seminar will be held by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection on 5 July 2011 in Warsaw and will be accompanying European Competition Authorities meeting

Multijurisdictional mergers involve competition authorities of several countries working in parallel on the same transaction. This can sometimes be a challenge both for competition agencies and companies. In recent years, competition authorities have cooperated increasingly in a substantial number of transnational mergers in order to address various problems caused by those transactions. Thus, the seminar aims at exchanging best practices and discussing issues of common interest between the officials from all over the Europe working in this area, as well as entrepreneurs, legal representatives and academics.

The event will be divided into two panels. The first one will address the practical problems that may arise from the application of the relevant provisions of the EUMR. The second panel will cover several central issues that arise in the context of multijurisdictional notifications.

The seminar will be broadcasted live in English on www.uokik.gov.pl

Please find enclosed a draft programme of the event.
