Second workshop organised by UOKiK in Moldova in the framework of a Polish Aid project

The second UOKiK workshops implemented under the project 'Institutional assistance for antitrust offices in Ukraine and Moldova', co-financed by the Polish Aid programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, have finished in Moldova. They were organised for the representatives of the Moldovan Competition Council and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.

From 20 to 22 June, experts from UOKiK shared their knowledge on planning and conducting antitrust proceedings and detecting cartels and bid-rigging. Moreover, the topic of one of the discussion panels was contractual advantage. The representatives of national competition authorities from the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Slovakia also participated in person or online. Practitioners carried out a detailed analysis of their cases in the presentations and during Question and Answers sessions.  The event was streamed online.

The workshops in Moldova are one of the activities announced in the framework of the regional cooperation agreement, which was signed on UOKiK’s premises in April of this year by the heads of 10 competition protection authorities from Central and Eastern Europe. Their main objective is to strengthen institutionally both the Moldovan Competition Council and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine in the field of competition law and state aid enforcement.

The first UOKiK workshop in Chisinau was held on 23-25 May, and the next one is scheduled for November this year in Warsaw. In September, experts from Moldova and Ukraine will also participate in expert internships in UOKiK’s Branch Offices in Bydgoszcz and Poznań in a job shadowing format.

The project 'Institutional assistance for antitrust offices in Ukraine and Moldova' will be implemented by UOKiK until the end of 2023. For more information on the 'Polish Aid' programme, please visit website: www.gov.pl/web/polishaid.
