Visit of the Armenian delegation to UOKiK
  • A delegation of the Armenian counterpart of UOKiK is visiting Poland.
  • The visit is related to the UOKiK implementation of the "Polish Aid" programme, which aims to strengthen the Republic of Armenia in building its consumer protection system.
  • Representatives of the Armenian consumer protection office take part in workshops during which we discuss the Polish consumer protection system.

Since 26 October, UOKiK has been hosting a delegation from the Competition Protection Commission (CPC) of Armenia. This is the third of four visits planned during the implementation of the project "Institutional Strengthening of the Republic of Armenia in Building a Consumer Protection System", whose activities are co-financed from the "Polish Aid" – a development cooperation programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. The project is implemented by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.

UOKiK is organising a three-day workshop that began on 26 October at the UOKiK's headquarters in Warsaw. Then the Armenian delegation will pay a visit to Bydgoszcz and Poznań branch offices. UOKiK and European Consumer Centre experts as well as Marek Radwański, a Consumer Ombudsman from the Poznań County, will discuss topics, which include out-of-court settlement of disputes, authority of Consumer Ombudsmen, mystery shoppers in consumer protection or aggressive market practices. The workshop was inaugurated by Tomasz Chróstny, the President of UOKiK.

The project is being implemented from July to December 2021 and is related to new tasks to be faced by the Armenian Commission, which, in connection with the amendment to Armenian regulations, will carry out consumer protection tasks. The planned activities, including study visits, will also serve to create stronger, mutually beneficial relations between Polish and Armenian authorities.
