New consents
< previous | next > 19.10.2009
The President of UOKiK issued three consents for concentration. Entrepreneurs who obtained the consent conduct their business activity on the following markets: audio/video devices, domestic appliances, petrol, and the grocery
By virtue of the first decision, Mix Electronics will be able to take over Electro World Polska. Mix Electronics is a company selling audio/video devices and domestic appliances. The company conducts its business activity by selling products in one of its 205 shops. Electro World Polska, the taken-over company, conducts its activity in the same line of business. The company is inspected by the Chamber of Brokerage House.
The second transaction concerns the creation of a common entrepreneur by EcoStream Oy and Lotos Jasło. EcoStream Oy does not conduct any business activity. It owns two subsidiary companies, one of them – EcoStream Polska – collects and sells lubricant oils. Lotos Jasło belongs to Grupa Lotos, which extracts and processes crude oil and trades oil products.
What is more, the President of the Office allowed the takeover of Raiso Polska Foods by Koninklijke. The latter belongs to the Bunge capital group, which conducts its business activity in Poland under, inter alia, Kruszwica company. Taken-over Raisio Polska Foods belongs to the Finnish group Raisio. Both entrepreneurs deal with the production of plant fats, margarines and mixes.
Having conducted antitrust proceedings, the President of the Office decided that the referrenced concentrations will not contribute to significant lessening of competition, in particular by creating or strengthening a dominant position.
Under the existing regulations, a transaction is subject to notification to the President of UOKiK if it involves enterprises whose total turnover in the preceding year exceeded EUR 1 billion worldwide or EUR 50 mln in Poland.
We would also like to inform that since May 2009 all information about antitrust proceedings conducted by the Office in case of concentrations can be found on our website.
