Joint venture Electromobility Poland gains UOKiK's approval
< previous | next > 22.09.2016
Poland’s competition Authority okays the creation of a joint venture by Poland’s four largest energy companies. Proceedings showed the transaction would not lead to limited competition.
The proposal for the establishment of the company ElectroMobility Poland was submitted to Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) September 9. The participants are the four power producer groups Enea, Energa, PGE Poland Energy Group and Tauron Poland Energy. The aim of the joint entity is to create the foundation for building electromobility in Poland. The company’s mission will be to develop the electric vehicle market and enable Polish companies to compete abroad.
The Authority’s proceedings showed that the transaction will not limit competition as the activities of ElectroMobility Poland and the individual companies do not overlap. There is no threat that the strength of the companies as energy producers will be transferred over to the market on which ElectroMobility Poland will operate.
