Endo.pl - decision of UOKiK
< previous | next > 23.01.2014
Customers of the online store endo.pl were not properly informed that they had the right to withdraw from a distance contract. The illegal practice has been discontinued by the company
The proceedings carried out by UOKiK revealed that endo.pl failed to inform its customers in writing that they had the right to return goods bought via distance selling. In accordance with the law, every consumer may cancel a distance contract by submitting a statement to that effect (which may be sent to the seller by ordinary mail) within 10 days of the delivery of the goods. The owner of the online store is obliged to provide the customer with written information about this right at the latest at the time of the delivery of the goods.
The company Decoratum, owner of endo.pl, was fined PLN 15 084 (ca 60 000 EUR) for infringing the collective interests of consumers. However, the above penalty has been reduced, because the company has discontinued the practice objected to. The decision is final.
