UOKiK branch office in Katowice: Yves Rocher Poland

The lack of information about, among others, the right to withdraw from the contract, delivery dates, and place and procedure for filing a complaint – those are practices of Yves Rocher Poland challenged by the President of UOKiK. The company committed to change them

kosmetyki

Yves Rocher Poland is a cosmetic company which sells its products in traditional and on-line shops. The regulations available on the entrepreneur's website and the content of transaction confirmations sent to the customers raised doubts of UOKiK.

The President of UOKiK initiated proceedings against Yves Rocher Poland in June 2012. In the course of the proceedings, it was noticed that the shop's website and the confirmations of concluded sales contract sent to the customers lack necessary information, such as the right to withdraw from the contract within 10 days, delivery date, place and procedure for filing a complaint, and the authority which registered the company.

However, under the law, entrepreneur is required to provide accurate and reliable information regarding both the trade offer and the rights of the consumer. It is mandatory that every entrepreneur selling products on the Internet informs the consumer about, for example, the possibility to withdraw from the contract within 10 days without stating reasons, or the procedure for filing a complaint. According to the Office, the lack of such data may make it difficult for the consumer to exercise his rights.

Yves Rocher Poland committed to remove all practice challenged by the President of UOKiK.

The Office reminds you that free counselling to consumers is provided by the poviat and municipal consumer ombudsmen, and under the helpline number 0 800 007 707.
